Picking locks in Morrowind was terrible.
You literally equipped the lockpick like a weapon and attacked the locked door or chest until it unlocked, or until your pick broke, and each pick had a lifespan of like 25 uses with Apprentice picks and 100 with Master picks, and then increments in between if I remember correctly.
